With ground reporters at Ocean Shores, WA relaying feeds back to MaxAttack! headquarters in Bentheim, MI, welcome to the NEWS thread for the MaxAttack! event at Olympus Rally 2011.

This event is the first round of the 2011 MaxAttack! Rally Series presented by Danza del Sol Winery. The MaxAttack! series is a shootout style championship that pits the best 2WD rally drivers and cars from across North America against each other to see who is the fastest team on gravel.

The series consists of two "qualifiers," one in the eastern half of the US and one in the west, followed by a "shootout" placed as close to the center of the country as possible. This gives teams of varying resources the opportunity to run for a very competitive and meaningfulchampionship. MaxAttack! events are usually won by a scant few seconds, as the continent's best teams are fighting to the last mile of the last stage.

The winner of the shootout series is bestowed the prestigious Jake Himes CupJake Himes was a founder of the MaxAttack! series and his principles and vision still guide it's direction. Particularly, his desire to see good, fun, meaningful competition for all involved in 2WD rally.
