MaxAttack! raised the level of two wheel drive rally racing in the United States for the past few years. -Mike Reilly and Josh Benthein also had a hard time at Mexico, breaking an axle in their Ford Focus. They luckily got a tow from Rory Gardiner's Subaru to make it back to service without extra penalty where they got the axle changed.

-Long time NEFR/MFR competitors Mike White and George Loef are back with their Saab 900. Mike says he challenged Luke Sorenson and Seth Straitin the other Saab to try to clear the Mexico jump. Luke passed...Mike still tried. Unfortunately, on his second run, he hit it a bit too hard and broke a shock, but the service crew got him running again. Mike says the 900 has a new engine, new gearbox, and is ready for a MaxAttack! Battle.

-Another classic rally car and fierce MaxAttack! Competitor, Greg Healey is back in his Datsun 280Z with Cindy Krolikowski calling the notes. After the first stage, she's calling a little louder than normal, as the intercom stopped working in the car and they were unable to revive it at service. Greg says he can hear Cindy over the noise, so they're just adjusting their level of attack to the situation.

-A favorite rear wheel drive car is the Nissan 240SX of Canadians Martin Walter and Ferdinand Trauttmansdorff. The team always pushes hard with the turbocharged Nissan. Martin says he's ready for the forest stages and looking forward to the competition.
